So Can You Write Articles?
Welcome back to the Web Writers Cafe. Today we are going to go over some tips that should help any level of article writer out there.
So, can you write articles? That question probably has crossed every ones mind from time to time. This is especially true for new writers who have never published an article to the web and is terrified that it may be junk.
Instead of writing down a bunch of tips, I am just going to give you a link to the tips I have used over the last year or so. I hope you enjoy them and I hope that they give you the confidence and support they gave me to start writing articles.
The tips are at Scalzi.com and is titled "Writing Tips for Non-Writers Who Don't Want to Work at Writing." Now don't take the title as it is no work to write an article, it is just implying that if you use these tips it will make it a lot easier to your article.
Enjoy these tips and put them to use to write an article!

Where Your Articles Can Go!
Hey All,
Thanks for coming back to the Web Writers Cafe. In the last few posts I have been going over the importance of writing and in general writing articles.
I had kind of generalized article writing as a way to bring traffic to your site or blog, but today I want to tell you of other ways that you can use your articles on the Internet and even maybe make a buck or two.
Let's go over the type of articles that I have already mentioned and those are the ones that will help you bring traffic to your landing page, website or blog. This type of use of your articles is called article marketing.
These articles are written about a certain subject or product that you may be promoting and are written so as to attract the search engines when the keywords you have chosen for that article are used. This is called Search Engine Optimization or SEO for short. This will be covered at a later date so don't really worry about it too much right now.
For example, you are promoting a new ebook about tropical fish. So you write an article about raising tropical fish and post it on the web. When someone searches the term tropical fish, your article comes up in the search results and they read your article. They like what they read so they click on the link you provided to the ebook sales page or your web page that tells about the ebook and hopefully they then buy said ebook.
Articles written for this purpose can be placed on sites that are made specifically for promoting and sharing your article with others. Some are listed below and I encourage you to check them out and join them so you can post your articles to the web soon.
ezinearticles.com
exchange-articles.com
articlesbase.com
findarticles.com
isnare.com
Article marketing can take a few days or even weeks to see any results from your work. For more relatively quicker results, you can post your articles and get payment on submission(after a standard review) or a get a share of the revenue that is brought in by your article with the sight that is promoting it. Please check out the following sites for submitting these type of articles.
hubpages.com
squidoo.com
helium.com
associatedcontent.com
And finally you can use Elance.com and bid on projects to write articles for other people. This is usually fairly quick money if you need it, but be prepared to get only $2 - $5 for each article as the competition is pretty tough.
I hope I have enlightened you to various ways to use your articles to make money with or to promote your website or blog. Next time I will be giving tips on writing a good article.
Till next time.....

Bum Marketing Does Work
When I started this grand adventure awhile ago, it was Bum Marketing that intrigued me to get started. If you do not know what Bum Marketing is visit Travis Sago's Bum Marketing site and he will teach you for free. I highly recommend signing up for his free course, it is one of those no brainers if you ask me.
That is how I started, but I soon lost focus and wondered away. The one thing that has stuck out from the Bum Marketing lessons is that writing articles is the easiest way to get traffic to your site or blog without having to pay for it. That is correct, you can get all the traffic you want to your site just by writing well structured, informative articles and get that traffic for free! You may even get paid for it too!
So for the next few posts, I will be giving tips for writing great articles and then what to do with them to drive traffic to your site or blog. I will also be giving other tips to help you drive traffic to your site as well as little ways to make more money from your efforts.
So get acquainted with the Bum Marketing Method if you are not already and join me in the next few days to bring your article writing up a notch and maybe even add a digit or two to your bank account.

Back To The Basics
Hey Everyone,
I have just been doing a little cleaning up around the Web Writers Cafe the last few weeks in preparation to getting this blog back on its feet again.
Over the past few years I have done a lot of testing and reading trying to make money online. I don't want to be rich (but I won't turn it away), just enough to be comfortable in life. I have tried this and that and everything else imaginable only to end up where I had started.
In my escapades though, I have seen one common thread in all of the promises and attempts at money making and that is WRITING! That is correct, to be successful at making money on the web, you have to know how to write.
Anything from ad copy, to squeeze pages, to a simple article, you have to know how to write. When this light finally went off in my head, I decided to come back to the cafe to help myself and others get better at writing, showing them how to make money writing and anything else that has to do with writing.
So come back often to the Cafe and we can share each others ups and downs, rights and wrongs about writing and hopefully be the better for it.
Till next time.....

Web Writers Cafe Is ReOpened!
Hey!
How is everyone doing? I know I have neglected this blog a lot! But I am getting my stuff together and will be posting on here more frequently!
Funny thing is that I have not posted in so long and the PR for this blog is PR-3! Imagine that, figure that one out Google. I have learned a lesson and have removed anything to do with the 3P's site as it seems Google hates a blog that uses them.
So what have I been doing lately? Well, I have been making lenses at Squidoo and hubs at Hubpages. I really like those sites. It is very easy to make a page and the search engines love them. Check out a sample of each below!
Hubpages - Cornhole: The Game
Squidoo - Hypertufa Planters
I like Hubpages a little more because of the ease of building a hub,(check out the Hubpages widget in the sidebar!) but they really restrict you as far a promoting products on there, where as Squidoo is a little more cumbersome in the build stage, the allow any kind of selling, promoting etc. So I use both together!
Let me know what you think about Squidoo and Hubpages!
See ya......

Update on eLance.com
In a earlier post I told you of joining eLance.com and that I was hoping to start writing there soon.
Well after getting use to the site and passing the eLance test for basic knowledge of the site, I was ready to go.
I spent a lot of time looking through the project listings in the writing area and I found myself concentrating on the blog/E-book writing category. This is where my "expertise" and experience is mostly at.
So far, I have put in three bids. One chose another bidder. One has yet to chose and I am very optimistic for this one as it is for working on the Wordpress format and I have a lot of that from my 451 Press blogging. The third one accepted my bid and I am writing a set of blog posts for just under $100 and he has offered me more work in the future.
So check out eLance and you never know, it might work out for you. I like it and so far it has been good to me.

Want To Improve Your Blogging?
So, do you want to become a better blogger?Do you want to attract hundreds if not thousands of readers everyday to your blog? Well, who doesn't?
While I was out cruising the Internet today, I ran a cross an article, How to Write a Better Weblog, by Dennis A. Mahoney at AListApart.com that I thought any blogger may find interesting. I also think that it would apply to some aspects of article writing also.
Dennis lists some valuable tips that every blogger should at least read and try to apply to their blog. I know that I will be using these tips to get my readership over the 1000/per day mark, oops, that should be 10/per day! (Must be optimistic!) Enjoy his article and improve your blogging now!

Writers Showcase #1
My first real Writers Showcase comes from a writer I found on Associated Content. I was doing a search for local AC writers and G. Stolyarov II's name showed up. What drew me to his writing at first was his Clout Index, which was 100000 - 500000, one that was very impressive and one that was foretelling of their talent.
As I went through his writings, it did not take long to understand that this writer was from local Hillsdale College, a prestigious and well known secondary learning institution in the United States.
I find that it is very interesting and ingenious that the writer not only used his college work(I assume, forgive me if this is not the case.) for a grade, but also for an income. I applaud this author on his extensive set of writings, while some did not attract to much of my attention, some did and I enjoyed them immensely.
In his profile it states that "G. Stolyarov II is a science fiction novelist, independent essayist, poet, amateur mathematician, composer, contributor to Enter Stage Right, Le Quebecois Libre, Rebirth of Reason, the Ludwig von Mises Institute, The Liberal Institute, and The Rational Argumentator."
I have listed a variety of his writings below from AC and you can find the rest listed in his profile.
Big Government Breeds Vice: Perverse Incentives of the Welfare State
Criminality and Forfeiture of Rights
A Plan for Cutting Big Government Spending
An Analysis of the Ideas of Fred Thompson
The History of Early Military Airplanes
I hope you have enjoyed these writings and essays, if so please visit G. Stolyarov II's profile where there is plenty more!

Building an Empire
As you know from the last post, I have started a website called MyBlogGroup.com that basically showcases all of my blogs.
Since I have started that site I have started another blog called Start Cooking Now! I hope you will take the time to check it out and to leave any comments you may have.
The last blog now makes four that I am writing and I have two on the back shelves to start when I am positive of the angle I want to go with them.
Then that had me thinking that maybe I am on to something here. While I do not want to get overloaded with a million blogs, but if I can turn these six blogs into money making machines, I will be sitting pretty. That will take time and a lot of work, so we will see.
Hope you can visit my other blogs and let me know what you think.
Till next time.....

Additional Places to Write
I mainly write articles and submit them to Associated Content and Helium. I was curious what other places you may submit your work to that is worth submitting.
Also, I am curious if anyone has been published in the real world and not online. I am looking forward to hearing from you and that experience.

Web Writers Cafe is Back In Business
I just wanted to let you all know that the Cafe is open, again! I severely neglected this blog as I ventured out into the Internet for other money making projects.
I was tempted in many directions and I lost my way for awhile. Then one day I sat back and looked deep inside and discovered what really pleased me was doing my blogs. So, here I am!
I will be doing the same things as in the beginning and hopefully adding other neat ideas to keep everyone entertained.
So I am opening the lines of communication again for any one that wants to feature your writing from Associated Content or Helium.
This blog, severely neglected as it was, has a Google rank of PR-3 so that means that you will get decent exposure if you take advantage of the Cafe.
I will be waiting for your submissions and adding my own.
Till next time.....
