So, do you want to become a better blogger?Do you want to attract hundreds if not thousands of readers everyday to your blog? Well, who doesn't?
While I was out cruising the Internet today, I ran a cross an article, How to Write a Better Weblog, by Dennis A. Mahoney at AListApart.com that I thought any blogger may find interesting. I also think that it would apply to some aspects of article writing also.
Dennis lists some valuable tips that every blogger should at least read and try to apply to their blog. I know that I will be using these tips to get my readership over the 1000/per day mark, oops, that should be 10/per day! (Must be optimistic!) Enjoy his article and improve your blogging now!

Writers Showcase #1
My first real Writers Showcase comes from a writer I found on Associated Content. I was doing a search for local AC writers and G. Stolyarov II's name showed up. What drew me to his writing at first was his Clout Index, which was 100000 - 500000, one that was very impressive and one that was foretelling of their talent.
As I went through his writings, it did not take long to understand that this writer was from local Hillsdale College, a prestigious and well known secondary learning institution in the United States.
I find that it is very interesting and ingenious that the writer not only used his college work(I assume, forgive me if this is not the case.) for a grade, but also for an income. I applaud this author on his extensive set of writings, while some did not attract to much of my attention, some did and I enjoyed them immensely.
In his profile it states that "G. Stolyarov II is a science fiction novelist, independent essayist, poet, amateur mathematician, composer, contributor to Enter Stage Right, Le Quebecois Libre, Rebirth of Reason, the Ludwig von Mises Institute, The Liberal Institute, and The Rational Argumentator."
I have listed a variety of his writings below from AC and you can find the rest listed in his profile.
Big Government Breeds Vice: Perverse Incentives of the Welfare State
Criminality and Forfeiture of Rights
A Plan for Cutting Big Government Spending
An Analysis of the Ideas of Fred Thompson
The History of Early Military Airplanes
I hope you have enjoyed these writings and essays, if so please visit G. Stolyarov II's profile where there is plenty more!

Building an Empire
As you know from the last post, I have started a website called MyBlogGroup.com that basically showcases all of my blogs.
Since I have started that site I have started another blog called Start Cooking Now! I hope you will take the time to check it out and to leave any comments you may have.
The last blog now makes four that I am writing and I have two on the back shelves to start when I am positive of the angle I want to go with them.
Then that had me thinking that maybe I am on to something here. While I do not want to get overloaded with a million blogs, but if I can turn these six blogs into money making machines, I will be sitting pretty. That will take time and a lot of work, so we will see.
Hope you can visit my other blogs and let me know what you think.
Till next time.....

Additional Places to Write
I mainly write articles and submit them to Associated Content and Helium. I was curious what other places you may submit your work to that is worth submitting.
Also, I am curious if anyone has been published in the real world and not online. I am looking forward to hearing from you and that experience.

Web Writers Cafe is Back In Business
I just wanted to let you all know that the Cafe is open, again! I severely neglected this blog as I ventured out into the Internet for other money making projects.
I was tempted in many directions and I lost my way for awhile. Then one day I sat back and looked deep inside and discovered what really pleased me was doing my blogs. So, here I am!
I will be doing the same things as in the beginning and hopefully adding other neat ideas to keep everyone entertained.
So I am opening the lines of communication again for any one that wants to feature your writing from Associated Content or Helium.
This blog, severely neglected as it was, has a Google rank of PR-3 so that means that you will get decent exposure if you take advantage of the Cafe.
I will be waiting for your submissions and adding my own.
Till next time.....

Want to be a Professional Blogger?
Well, do you? I have been blogging for 451 Press since the beginning of the year and it is really cool. My blog is the Pit Stop Report and I cover everything NASCAR.
451 just started last October and already has over 200 blogs on the company payroll and their goal is to have 451 blogs. So as you can see they are well on their way, but they still need writers. Would you be interested?
If you go to my blog and scroll to the bottom, you will see the blogs they have now. Some of them do not have writers yet, while most do. If you are interested in writing for them apply to 451 Press here and please list me as the person that referred you on the application.

Ways to promote your work
Web Writers Cafe was started to help not only myself, but others too, gain exposure for the work that we do on the Internet. To receive that extra exposure it will be slow at first but with time will grow to a decent and steady traffic count.
Over at ProBlogger.net, Darren made a post earlier this year on "How to market your blog in the year 2007." This is a great article for anyone that is trying to get noticed on the web and it is the blue print that we will be using here at The Cafe to read the word. ProBlogger also lists blogging jobs that you may be interested in, so stop by and stop often.
The article gives you "41 ways to kickstart your marketing efforts" according to the post which was written by Tony Hung. This article will not only work for your blog, but it will work for you to promote your work on AC or Helium also. So print it out and start promoting your work, we will so the same here at The Cafe.

Going on vacation?
Our latest submission comes to us from Kristina, a Content Producer at Associated Content. Kristina has offered up a few travel articles that have been recently published.
My family happened to visit two of these destinations last year on our summer vacation and these articles would have come in handy then.
Adventures in America: Riviera Maya
Adventures in America: Wisconsin Dells
Adventures in America: The Black Hills
Thanks for the submissions Kristina and I hope everyone enjoys them.

The last article that I submitted to Associated Content was finally approved and with an offer. It was a small offer, but at least I earned one.
I have only received one submission to put someone's work on display, so I have decided to go out and find one for us to look at. This article is on the front page of Associated Content. I do not know the criteria for putting stories on the front page, but I believe that this story, even though it is a interesting subject, is not front page worthy and definitely not worthy of the 4.9 rating.
I am probably the last person who should be talking about spelling as I would be lost without my spell checker, but this author probably should have used one. There are a couple of spelling errors and used "effected" in the place of the word "affected." Simple mistakes but ones that should not be on the front of Associated Content.
Also, it seems that he was just rambling at the end to fill space as he really didn't say anything in the last few paragraphs. That is my review of the article, now tell me what you think!

Search before writing
In my last post I linked to the last article that I had written. Since then I have been waiting for the article to be approved and an offer made. While I was on the site, I did a search for the keyword of the article, which was FreeCycle, and it returned 75 articles with FreeCycle in it.
With that knowledge I am not expecting a big offer, if any. So lesson learned about what else one should do before starting an article.

Welcome to the Web Writers Cafe
Welcome to the Web Writers Cafe!
As a new web writer I have found that getting your work out on the web is critical to the success of your writing, at least the monetary part of it. So I have started this blog to have all of my articles linked to from one central point.
I am also hoping for your critiques and suggestions for the articles that I post and in return, I am asking you for links to your work so they may be critiqued and commented on also. There is a link in the right sidebar to send me the info you want to put in with the post. I will also post tips and tricks that I find as I scour the web.
So pull up a chair and your favorite beverage and welcome to the Cafe.
